Between Atkins, The Zone, South Beach and the plethora of other low-carb eating plans, the choices of foods to eat can be dizzying. Experts are conflicted on the safety and healthiness of extreme low-carb diets, however, they agree on one thing---reducing overall carb intake, especially refined sugar and empty white-bread products---is a healthy choice. Incorporating some no-carb foods into your diet can help with this task.
Meat and Fish
Sausage, pork, beef, lamb, turkey, chicken, flounder, salmon, trout and most other meats and fish are foods with no carbs.
Dairy
No-carb dairy foods to choose from include eggs, whipping cream, camembert cheese, muenster cheese, grated parmesan cheese and processed cheese slices. Egg substitute products are also carb free.
Produce
No-carb produce foods consist of head and butter lettuces, freeze-dried parsley and olives--green and mission. There are no fruits that are completely devoid of carbs.
Fats
There are many no-carb fats to choose from: mayonnaise, butter, margarine, olive oil, safflower oil, peanut oil, corn oil, soybean oil and lard.
